Our Mission
At Outdoor Collective, we believe that adventure is for everyone. Our mission is to lower the barrier to entry for outdoor sports by providing clear, beginner-friendly guides that build confidence and competence. Whether you are stepping onto a skateboard for the first time, planning your first century ride, or eyeing a mountain summit, we want to be the resource that helps you say yes to the outdoors.
We are committed to promoting a culture of safety, respect for nature, and inclusivity across every sport we cover. No matter your age, background, or fitness level, there is a trail, a road, or a slope waiting for you.
Our Story
Outdoor Collective was founded in 2024 by three friends who met on a rainy hiking trail in the Pacific Northwest and bonded over a shared frustration: most outdoor guides were either too technical for beginners or scattered across a dozen different websites. We wanted one place — a single, honest, well-organized hub — where anyone could learn the essentials of skateboarding, cycling, and mountaineering without feeling overwhelmed.
What started as a weekend project between a former skate shop owner, a bike mechanic, and a mountain guide quickly grew into something bigger. Today, we publish in-depth guides, gear reviews, route recommendations, and safety advice that reach thousands of readers every month. We still test every piece of advice ourselves, and we update our content as equipment and techniques evolve.
Sports Overview
Skateboarding
From cruising the boardwalk to learning your first ollie, skateboarding is one of the most accessible and rewarding outdoor sports. Our guides cover board types, basic tricks, safety gear, and the culture that makes skateboarding unique.
Cycling
Whether you ride road, gravel, or mountain, cycling opens up the world in a way nothing else can. We help you choose the right bike, plan unforgettable routes, keep your rig running smoothly, and even take on multi-day touring adventures.
Mountaineering
There is nothing quite like standing on a summit after a long climb. Our mountaineering section walks you through essential gear, classic routes, safety protocols, and high-altitude camping so you can pursue peaks with confidence and respect for the mountains.
